The Chosen - A Review

Date: Jun 21, 2021 It's nothing like the convention we've come to know... The idea is not about history. It's just about edification. It has everything to do with conversion, and little to do with indoctrination, yet, it goes nowhere against the doctrine - not the basic, not the fringes. It's about the Word - the Word diffusing Himself in the modern times, and peoples and language. To understand, no one needs to know the culture as was practised two millennia ago, as the exegetes would have us do - no. It has everywhere in it, the signature of the Divine. Finally, the media has become that boat that leads us to God. The Spirit, the Holy Spirit is the wind that moves it along the direction He Wishes us to go. It's not strictly based on the accounts, as we've come to know them; but there have been fill-ins, to fill the cracks and to then smoothen the surface; thanks to the aids of imagination which in turn is a tool made by the Manus Divinae. The day we call Good

There's a reason why today, of all other days is called Good. This is the 6th day, both proverbially and Scripturally historical - a day in which man was made. It pleased God that, also on this day, a new Man would be made, not by mere dust now, but by blood and water. Here is a tale of two Fridays,  one a consequent of the other. While the first reminds us of death, the second gives us a hope of a life restored (though through death). On this day, both the Christian and the Muslim will take a sacred fast: the Muslim, because of the first creation; the Christian, because of the second creation. On this day also, the Jew and Christian prepare for passover: the Jew, to commemorate the old, sealed with the blood of the Ewe's lamb; the Christian, the new, consummated with the most precious blood of God's Lamb.
